cloth

twist me up

wring me out

leave your bare hands raw and pink

spotted flesh

let the droplets of me pucker the soil below

little craters

of what was

what is

and what will be

me

puncture the ground

with your force

and gravity

let me nourish the sod

let the things you didn't want to say wring me out one last time

as dampness squirms

lacing your fingers

you fight back

don’t let me weave through

wont let me mix

pleats hold the moisture

inconceivably permanent

nature evaporates

in its own measure

THIS WEEK THIS WEEK THIS WEEK

This week seems like an excellent time for all of us to finish our pieces for the first zine, edit and print the material. I hope we can get things put together by Friday, January 9th and start distributing them by the weekend. It seems like a lot to do, but if we work individually, we can bring things together on Wednesday at Pius studio night or before the show tomorrow at the Perk. You can bring pieces and give them to me or Ben, I think we will be organizing the actual zine (with plenty of help and editing from all of the kids). So let's push for this week and see what happens. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

DNA

me and kevin allie are going to make different DNAs, and possibly a flower.  we want to go to american science and surplus.  we need help and ideas.  especially if we want to attach them to something.

Reiteration of Ben's Zine Request

I'm writing all of you because I know you spend a significant amount of time writing, drawing, or just creating in general.

I admire your work and I admire you in general.

What I need: Poems, Short-Stories (5 pages tops), Blurbs, Black and White Drawings, Help with editing, Printers, and Encouragement.

Why: I'm going to attempt to make a literary journal and see what happens.

You can e-mail with attachments at gucciar2@uwm.edu

I want to have the first edition printed by January 1st 2008.

It's going to be ruggedly constructed.
With staples and computer paper.
I'm shooting for twenty pages or so.
Each page being half a hamburger-folded 8 by 10 sheet.

If it goes through:
It's going to be free but with an option of donation.
It's going be distributed in milk crates wherever I'm allowed to distribute.
(And wherever you want to distribute it)

Let me know, let me know.

LOVE,
Ben
