February 14th, 3AM?
there was nothing electric about it, entirely void of time and thought.
All I wanted to ask was who his first love was
but i felt too safe and soft when he tucked our hands into his warm coat pocket.
It was snowy and dark. The lake was feet away and our shadows could have been cut from one of my obsesive day dreams.
his softer eyes and lighter hair kept me away from you.
his lips tasted like the insides of your arms.
i looked down and gathered the clear information;
he played the saxophone and was studying math and science.
he was the oldest in his family and took care of his borther and sister.
I didn't feel needed, I felt wanted.
And I am wondering which I prefer. And I know the anwser.

trying to figure it out
there is a lot of truth in that
in the moon and the stars
but what about the overpasses of baltimore
and the small tiles of carpeting that make up our living room floor
in the conflict
and the hardships
i guess you just have to react
you just have to be
on that crooked broken couch
in the dimly lit light
whether its here or in milwaukee
it is
and there’s something
someone else that is
feeling the same
the struggle
the urge to make sense
out of what
is not
really
tangible
but what you can see
is
the moment
and the moon overhead
and that contrasting urge
to fight
whatever it is
that is obstructing
Flying
its a continuous space in which you are infinite
you are unsure of the horizon
looking down always or is it looking out
the patchwork quilt underneath
rises and falls
as depth changes so does clarity
it becomes about space and color
angled linear roads leading in and out of complexes
vast space and suddenly then not.
infinite and then suddenly not.
and then you touch down.
and you are grounded.
the horizon no longer holds its mystery
when flat in front of your face.
